Brandy Alexander

Nightcaps! Just when you’ve cried “Uncle” and slipped away to replace your fancy pants with yoga pants….here come the Brandy Alexanders. Everyone’s around the fire playing a rousing round of the “name game” when Aunt Paula serves up this traditional treat.. A happy ending to a Happy Thanksgiving!

Brandy Alexander

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream

1/4 cup brandy (or a bit more to taste)

1/4 cup creme de cacao

nutmeg, freshly grated

Combine ice cream, brandy and cacao in a blender. Grate nutmeg to serve.

Think hostess gift! You can make batches weeks before and freeze. Deliver in a festive container…and make it a tradition.

Oh my gosh, Tina…how many of these did I serve when I didn’t know what to serve. Yahoo to Aunt Paula! Love reliving a bit of history when it still tastes so good!

  5. Can you make a slimfast version of these for the morning after? Will go well with the fabulous pumpkin roll!

  6. Already made for our Thanksgiving Holiday… Aunt Paula thinks that it may be even tastier if the brandy is aged in freezer:) Or rather her excuse to start sipping it now!
Good for a night cap or to flavor your coffee in the morning!!!

  7. How many drinks does this recipe make?

Great question!!! Just served these for 14 last weekend and 1 1/2 gallons was a generous pour..
      So 4-6 servings….nice size. Enjoy!!

Ok, I just am not a cook nor a drink mixer, Sooo Dummies for 101 I want to make for friends coming and I’d like to make ahead. I’m reading this to just mix it ahead of time just like the above recipe says and then how long before drinking do you take from freezer to pour into glasses? Thanks

It just needs to defrost til it comes to the right consistency. You could defrost earlier in the afternoon and then put it in the fridge! Enjoy.
