Homemade Peppermint Mocha

Nothing says the holidays like a Peppermint Mocha topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes. While traditional peppermint mochas are a bit calorie laden, this homemade version boasts bittersweet chocolate, milk and peppermint extract for a healthier choice. You’ll be saving calories and coins!

Peppermint Mocha

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon peppermint extract ( start with a 1/2 and taste)
  • In a saucepan add in all of your ingredients except the peppermint.
  • Stir and bring the ingredients to a simmer. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Take the saucepan off the heat, add the peppermint, pour into your mug. 
  • Decorate with freshly whipped cream and a sprinkles over some crushed candy canes.
