Nothing says the holidays like a Peppermint Mocha topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes. While traditional peppermint mochas are a bit calorie laden, this homemade version boasts bittersweet chocolate, milk and peppermint extract for a healthier choice. You’ll be saving calories and coins!
Peppermint Mocha
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup coffee
- 1 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon peppermint extract ( start with a 1/2 and taste)
- In a saucepan add in all of your ingredients except the peppermint.
- Stir and bring the ingredients to a simmer. Simmer for 2 minutes.
- Take the saucepan off the heat, add the peppermint, pour into your mug.
- Decorate with freshly whipped cream and a sprinkles over some crushed candy canes.
